Publicising SLiMs/Senayan

Post by gurujim » 19 Nov 2012, 11:21

I discovered that there is a listing for Senayan at this site: http://foss4lib.org/packages , created by "masisn". I hope he doesn't mind but I edited the English language a little bit, and created a new Release section to announce SLIMS5-Meranti. I also discovered this site http://opensourceils.com/ which doesn't seem to know about SLiMS :o - so I sent them a message. SLiMS is too good to be a secret - I want to help share it with the world :D

why thanks a bunch, @gurujim. really that surprise that Senayan (SLiMS) can be in to that site :). there are several info that might need you to fix:

package links section:
a. documentation. could you please redirect it to this link, http://slims.web.id/web/?q=doc. so user can use it right away.
b. releases. is it okay to redirect the link to this one, http://slims.web.id/web/?q=node/1 ? if not, that would be no matter :).

technology section:
a. license. as noted in SLiMS website, it is said that SLiMS is using GPLv3 as its license.
b. please add osx to the operating system. yes, it can be installed also to osx and the *nix family :).

hope they can give it a try on SLiMS and make that into their website :). really thank you for what you have done. looking forward to hear anything from you and fellow users of SLiMS especially in australia :).

Yes I already tried to update those links, but somehow parts of the update/revision system don't seem to be working - so the links that were created originally seem to be stuck. I will experiment further.

OK I think I have success. I have updated the License details, and added Mac to OS list, AND solved the link bug by creating a "tiny URL" [http://tiny.cc/xgt0nw ] for the link to documentation. I guessed the page building code on that site (is it Drupal underneath?) was truncating "?q=doc". So I hope it's better now. Can't change the Releases link because it's coded to point to sections on their site, but instead I added download links for both releases in their description. Hope that's OK.
